The Marine Task Force within Cozen O’Connor is made up of attorneys who are experienced with and have a specialized knowledge and expertise in the handling of transit losses. Such losses and casualties typically arise under cargo, hull, aircraft and specie polices, often occurring during transportation by truck, train, air, barge or water vessel and/or storage at warehouses. In recent years, the technological and legal environment for domestic and international commerce has changed dramatically and continues to change.
In order to maximize recovery potential, familiarity with the latest developments and jurisdictional options is essential. The members in this group are familiar with the federal and state laws, regulations and case law, as well as international treaties governing the sale and transportation of goods in domestic and international commerce. It is the Task Force’s mission to alert and consult with clients regarding time and liability limitations as soon as possible after first notice of claim with a view towards enhancing and maximizing recovery potential.
