A. Martin Wickliff, Jr. is a member of the firm’s labor and employment department in the Houston office.
Marty has been trained by the American Arbitration Association as an Arbitrator and Mediator focusing on employment and commercial matters. He is listed on the Panel of Neutral Employment Arbitrators with the American Arbitration Association, the Panel of Mediators with mediation.org, and the Panel of Distinguished Neutrals of CPR (International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution).
Marty, who is board certified in Labor and Employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, is also a veteran litigator and trial lawyer in all phases of labor and employment law, including advice and counsel, trials and appeals involving all types of discrimination matters (single and multiple plaintiff cases, as well as class actions).
Marty’s experience has involved companies in such diverse industries as airlines, banking, chemical, clothing, construction, energy, entertainment, financial services, grocery, healthcare, hotel, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, railroad, restaurant, retail, sales, transportation, waste disposal, and wholesale.
Marty has regularly spoken on a variety of labor and employment topics on behalf of continuing legal education providers, he has authored several articles, and he authored The Employment Law Chapter of Texas Business Litigation (2014-2022), published by American Law Media Inc.
Marty has been very active in several bar and community associations. He has served on the board of directors of the State Bar of Texas (1986-1990) and the board of trustees and chair of the State Bar of Texas Insurance Trust. Marty has also served as president of the Houston Lawyers Association and on the boards of various civic and community associations in Texas, such as Theater Under the Stars, Houston Symphony, and The Ensemble Theater.
Marty has been chosen as a “Leader in their Field” (Labor & Employment) by Chambers USA from 2007 through 2023 (Band 1 from 2014-2018).
