Jennifer McGlashan

Jennifer brings close to two decades of experience in insurance litigation and subrogation matters. Over the course of her career, she has attended over 500+ multi-party negotiations and mediations, has appeared on behalf of clients in jury trials, arbitrations, before the Ontario Court of Appeal and Divisional Court, and as lead counsel in a variety of administrative tribunals. She has experience in all aspects of litigation and has represented clients in a variety of matters spanning insurance coverage, subrogation, class actions, institutional sexual abuse, professional liability, product liability, privacy, construction, cargo, employment, property damage, occupiers’ liability, statutory accident benefits, loss transfer, and priority disputes.

For her institutional clients, Jennifer also has experience providing regulatory and contractual advice quarterly to board members on upcoming changes in legislation and recommendations for future compliance and strategy, including changes to policies, procedures, and best practices.

Before joining Cozen O'Connor, Jennifer was a partner with a boutique law firm in Toronto, where she handled coverage and subrogation matters and was the intake partner for a national insurer client. She also oversaw the creation of the firm's accident benefits department.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts with honors from York University and her Bachelor of Laws from York University's Osgoode Hall Law School. She enjoys mentoring early-career attorneys with both the University of Toronto Faculty of Law School and the Lincoln Alexander School of Law School. Outside of law, she enjoys figure skating, skiing, golfing, scuba diving, and traveling with her husband and two children.
