New California Code on Mediations

Amy Alderfer and Brett Taylor discussed the benefits of mediating a case and the various strategies clients should consider when approaching and being involved in mediation. Furthermore, effective January 1 of this year, California Evidence Code Section 1129 requires certain disclosures to be made by attorneys to clients before the client consents to mediation. They discussed the new disclosures and why the confidential aspect of mediation is important.
