Some of the most overlooked challenges in today’s in-house counsel role are those regarding the ethics surrounding a successful in-house practice. The multiple roles required of in-house counsel and the nature of a corporate practice create potential conflicts and unique ethical challenges. In this ethics program, a panel of current and former in-house counsel will provide best practices and advice including how to:

  • Protect work product materials both in domestic and international transactions
  • Identify the corporate client and the limits of applicable privileges
  • Avoid the unauthorized practice of law when you provide advice to clients that cross multiple jurisdictions
  • Avoid blurring the line between legal and business advice
